Traditional Road Tour

Overview

We begin our tour by visiting the traditional village of Emporio, or locally known as Nimporio. It is the largest village in the South.

There we will visit Kastelli, which means castle that is of Latin origin. When in village, travellers wil find structures that resemble castles and constitute the most powerful protection of the islanders against the enemy. Emporio is a place where the glorious past is still prevalent.  It is a place away from the crowds and noise. Enjoy its unique character and experience Santorini from a privileged spot on the island!

Our next station is the Monastery of Phophet Ilias that is a must see for any visitor of Santorini. A 360° view of the whole island will come along with your photoshooting. This Monastery has been characterized as a place of great historical significance, comprising churches chapels, a bell tower and a wealth of numerous religious goods from the 18th century.

At the foot of the mountain of Prophet Ilias, we meet the village of Pyrgos. This picturesque village will offer you panoramic views of both sides of Santorini and the chance to get impressed by the retained features of the Venetian rule with traditional Cycladic houses and pathways placed around it.

We end our tour by visiting on of the most picturesque and traditional villages of Santorini, Megalochori. This picturesque site is a maze of winding streets, with whitewashed houses and churches with blue domes and ornate bell towers. You will have the opportunity to take amazing photos in the alleys of this traditional village.

There you will have the possibility to enjoy a meal of traditional products of Santorini or to taste refined wines of the island and not only.
