Santorini Roots Tour

Overview

We begin our tour by visiting the Tomato Industrial Museum “D. Nomikos”. The tomato museum is located on the rocky beach of Vlychada, Santorini. The museum is built with volcanic materials, stone-made walls and rooftops, with the typical Santorinian vaults. This historic tomato factory of D. Nomikos, has been transformed into a modern Tomato Industrial Museum, offering a journey back to the industrial past of Santorini, by guiding you through the cultivation, processing, and production of tomato!

At this point of our tour, we will visit the Akrotiri Archaelogical site and you will learn a lot of interesting things about our civilization.

Our next station is the famous Koutsogiannopoulos Wine Museum. This one of a kind museum happens to be nestled in a cave and because of its unique position, this natural labyrinth is 8 meters below ground and 300 meters long. There, you will see the stages of winemaking process, including ploughing in the vineyards and the harvesting, stomping and weighing of the grapes. You will also learn about the range of machinery necessary to make wine all the way through to what is used today. At the end you will taste 4 of their best wines.

After the Koutsogiannopoulos Wine Museum, we will visit the “Most Innovative Brewery”, Ftelos. It is an experience that you should not miss! Located in Karterados, Santorini, a 4.800sq meters modern space, seeks to provide the ultimate brewing experience. At Ftelos Brewery you will also see one of the largest bioclimatic gardens with minimal ecological footprint.

You will have a beer tasting experience of 6 beers while a beer expert will inform you regarding the quality specifications and the ingredients of each beer served, accompanied by a luxurious platter with selected bites!
